Inside Self-Storage (ISS) has published a new online slideshow titled, "The 10 Worst Types of Self-Storage Customers: True Tales From the Trenches." To compile the list, ISS asked members of Self-Storage Talk (SST), the industry’s largest online community, to discuss customer stereotypes and the characteristics of tenants and prospects who give them the biggest headaches. The free presentation compiles the best of the worst, beginning with a few honorable mentions and then counting down from No. 10 to the most aggravating obstacles.
SST members also shared several stories and specific examples of customer behavior that are included in the slideshow. Outrageous actions described in the presentation range from tenants exhibiting stalker-like behavior to a customer who was caught on video defecating in an aisle at a manager’s facility.
The slideshow can be viewed by visiting insideselfstorage.com and choosing "Slideshows" from the "Resource Center" drop-down menu on the top navigation bar.
For more than 20 years, ISS has provided informational resources and services to the self-storage industry including a monthly magazine, annual conferences and tradeshows, and an extensive website. ISS is also the owner of the Self-Storage Training Institute, an online education portal for managers and owners, and the ISS Store, a website for on-demand education and insight.
