Blue Self Storage of Wales Merges With Maltings Document Storage to Form Blue Storage Group

Blue Self Storage, which operates three container-storage facilities in Wales, is merging with Maltings Document Storage Solutions, a provider of document storage, to create Blue Storage Group. The partnership will allow the companies to invest in new systems and processes, take advantage of funding opportunities, and scale both brands. Existing properties will continue to operate under their current brand names, according to the source.

“This merger will enable us to improve our current offerings, expand our services and deliver better value to all our customers. While both businesses offer storage solutions to different industries, the infrastructure that’s required for both offerings are very similar,” said Chris Bryan, managing director of Blue Self Storage, who will also provide strategic direction for the new entity.

“The merger represents a strategic move toward greater growth and efficiency. We believe that we will be better positioned to pursue opportunities and continue our aim to be one of the key innovators in what is a very competitive sector,” added Gareth Oram, non-executive director for Maltings. “Striving toward innovation, we have invested in the latest digital software and technology so that we can focus on consistent, high-quality service for all our customers, large or small.”

Maltings has more than 40 years of experience in providing document storage and management. It operates two locations in Cardiff, Wales, with plans to expand into England.  

Founded in 1988, Blue Self Storage has locations in Bridgend, Cardiff and Tyneside, Wales. A fourth is under development in Gloucester. It has other sites in the pipeline, the source reported.
