Storable, a supplier of various products and services for the self-storage industry, has released its “Tenant Insights Report 2024,” designed to help facility operators navigate today's business challenges. The company surveyed more than 1,000 customers nationwide. The results provide insight to industry demand, technology's role in facility management and the shifting expectations of self-storage tenants, according to a press release.

The report reveals that a notable percentage of customers view self-storage as an essential expenditure even in financially challenging times and that quality customer service is a key determinant when choosing a location. Respondents also highlighted desired facility features and their willingness to pay more for them.

More than a third of respondents highlighted technology as an important factor when deciding where to store. The results also illuminate generational differences when it comes to technology's influence in selecting facilities and creating positive customer experiences.

“As interest rates fluctuate and Americans' moving plans evolve, it's crucial for operators to understand the shifting demands of tenants. Our report underscores the criticality of customer service and technology integration in meeting these demands,” said company CEO Chuck Gordon.

The self-storage tenant report can be downloaded from Storable’s website.
