Pogoda Launches Contact-Free Self-Storage Rentals to Combat COVID-19

Pogoda Cos., a Farmington Hills, Mich.-based self-storage operator and third-party management firm, has launched a contact-free rental experience through selfstoragespecialists.com. Customers can choose a location, unit size and facility features, and then officially rent their space online. The new offering is designed to accommodate and protect consumers and employees during the coronavirus pandemic, according to a press release.

The contact-free service is an upgrade to the remote-payment options Pogoda previously offered. It gives customers 24-hour access to Pogoda’s unit inventory via any Web-enabled device. The company has also implemented safety initiatives at its properties including a six-foot social-distancing rule, sneeze guards, face masks and frequent deep cleanings, the release stated.

“Because we are an essential business that is critical to the economic supply chain, we have remained open to serve our tenants’ unique needs with dedicated services that include a wide range of contactless, safety-first initiatives across our 45 locations in Michigan and Ohio,” said John George, vice president of operations.

Pogoda Cos. operates more than 3.5 million square feet of self-storage space in Michigan and Ohio under National Storage Centers and other brand names. The firm also provides brokerage, consulting, investment and management services to the self-storage industry through Pogoda Group Inc. and Pogoda Management Co.
