UK Self-Storage Operator Storage King Seeks Charities for its Annual Christmas Toy Appeal

U.K. self-storage operator Storage King is seeking five charities to support during its annual Christmas Toy Appeal. The charities must register with the storage operator by Sept. 30. They must also provide information about the types and number of gifts they’d like to receive, and who’ll receive the donated items should they be selected.

The chosen organizations will be invited to a holiday event held at the company’s Shrewsbury, England, store, where each charity will be presented with the donations. The event will also offer an opportunity for community members to meet with charity representatives.

Storage King will accept toy donations at its facilities in Dudley, Nottingham, Shrewsbury, Warrington and West Bromwich, England. Last year’s toy appeal received a tremendous response, with the Nottingham and West Midlands, England, branches receiving more than 350 toys each, according to the source. The supported charities in 2015 included Hope House, Princess Royal Hospital and The Harry Johnson Trust.

“Christmas is a time of happiness and joy, when people are surrounded by their family and friends,” said Sarah Hopkins, managing director of Storage King. “For some, this is not always the case, so it’s important we take the time to help those less fortunate than ourselves at a time of year when being around loved ones is very important. We hope the Christmas appeal will put a smile on a few faces.”

Storage King operates 24 facilities across the United Kingdom.
