Westy Self Storage Builds New Facility in Hackensack, NJ

Westy Self Storage, which operates properties in Connecticut, New Jersey and New York, is building a new facility in Hackensack, N.J. The property at 65 Commerce Way is behind The Home Depot and The Shops at Riverside, a two-level, enclosed upscale shopping mall.

Westy broke ground on the storage development four months ago. Last week, it announced the site’s “topping out,” the placement of the final steel beam that marks the next phase construction. In keeping with tradition, an American Flag was placed on the top of the beam, the source reported.

Nearly 985 tons of structural steel has been used to construct the new storage building, which is expected to open by year’s end. Once complete, the facility will comprise 170,000 square feet of storage space in more than1,500 units. It will be Westy’s third property in Bergen County and 15^th overall.

Founded in 1990, Westy Self Storage is headquartered in Stamford, Conn. It operates four facilities in Connecticut, three in New Jersey and seven in New York.
