U-Haul Acquires Bayview Mini Storage in Bremerton, WA

U-Haul Co. of Southern Washington has acquired the former Bayview Mini Storage in Bremerton, Wash., and rebranded it as U-Haul Moving and Storage of Bremerton and Gorst. The property at 4107 State Highway 16 W. features seven single-story storage buildings, a 500-square-foot modular office and a 154-square-foot metal building. The total combined building space on the 4.09-acre lot is 38,059 square feet. The property also has 79 vehicle-parking spaces.

Additional offerings include truck and trailer rentals and U-Box moving and storage containers. Future plans for the facility include upgrades to the roof and storage doors as well as the addition of a loading dock for the U-Box container area, according to a company press release.

"This location gives us the opportunity to expand our services, specifically our self-storage and U-Box containers," said Kim Merow, marketing company president.

The acquisition of Bayview Mini Storage was driven by U-Haul’s corporate sustainability initiatives, which support infill development to help local communities lower their carbon footprint, according to the release. U-Haul’s adaptive reuse of buildings eliminates the amount of energy and resources required for new-construction materials and helps local cities diminish their unwanted inventory of unused buildings, U-Haul officials said.

Established in 1945, U-Haul International Inc. has more than 40 million square feet of storage space at more than 1,000 owned and managed facilities throughout North America.
