Budget Self Storage has started clearing land for a planned self-storage development in Brandon, Fla. Scheduled to open next spring, the facility will be the companys 11th location in the state. The property is on Bloomingdale Avenue, across the street from Southern Technical College. A public hearing regarding the project has been scheduled for tomorrow.

The facility will offer climate-controlled and drive-up units, boat/RV storage, electronic gate access and video cameras. It will serve residential and business customers.

Founded in 1985, Budget Self Storage is headquartered in St. Petersburg, Fla., and currently operates 10 facilities in western Florida and five in North Carolina. The company established Budget Management Inc. in Sarasota, Fla., in 1987 to handle all operational aspects of the business, while StorCon Development LLC coordinates the site selection, research, development and construction of all new Budget facilities, according to the company website.
