San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) sponsored the 17th annual Del Mar Solana Beach Sunrise Rotary Turf Bocce Ball Family Day and Tournament on March 3 at the Del Mar Horse Park in Del Mar, Calif. The fundraising event raised approximately $45,000 for three nonprofit organizations: Social Advocates for Youth, Just in Time for Foster Youth (JIT), and Community Resource Center.
Social Advocates for Youth is dedicated to the positive development of local children and their families. JIT provides self-sufficiency opportunities to foster youth in transition through emergency support, resources and personal guidance. The Community Resource Center is a social-services agency dedicated to helping women and children, individuals and families. It provides domestic-violence services, food programs, and emergency and transitional housing assistance.
"We’re honored to be a VIP Sponsor of this event once again this year to provide critically-needed support to the three beneficiaries,” said J. Terry Aston, managing partner. “SDSS is a catalyst for humanitarian causes in San Diego, and we’re tremendously grateful to the Rotary Club of Del Mar-Solana Beach for organizing this event and engaging us in a worthy endeavor.”
SDSS had six teams compete in the tournament. They included Tony Carr and Jim Conrady, Debra Conrady and Sandy Noel, Sandra Flores and David Schwartz, Breana John and James Williams, Jim John and Renee John, and Chris Wood and Jenn Wood.
