It’s often been said the future of self-storage marketing is on the Internet. The launch of industry directories, mobile apps, social-media branding and other online initiatives shows self-storage professionals are embracing all things Web.Facility operators who are new to online marketing or want more advanced information will find insight at the Inside Self-Storage World Expo, March 14-16, in Las Vegas. The industry’s biggest event of the year will include multiple seminars on Internet marketing and an in-depth workshop that explores search-engine optimization, social-media engagement and more.
The expo’s marketing track kicks off on March 14 with a closer look at pay-per-click advertising. Attendees will learn how to use online services like Google AdWords, refine online ads and get the most from search-engine results. Other topics in the track include converting online business, best practices for social media, QR codes and more.
On March 16, the Web Workshop 2.0 will present strategies to reach new customers via the Web, optimize their experience and close more sales. Led by John Siefert and John Muehling of VIRGO, parent company of the ISS Expo, the workshop is ideal for those just learning Web marketing or operators looking for a fresh approach.
Siefert joined VIRGO as CEO in 2010 after a 15-year career with United Business Media, where he was senior vice president of the InformationWeek Business Technology Network. As vice president of marketing for VIRGO, Muehling oversees the development of the company’s audiences and works to improve the level of engagement.
The ISS Expo will take place at the Paris Hotel & Resort. The self-storage conference and tradeshow features 40 seminars, four workshops, two days of product and service exhibits, and peer-to-peer networking events. Show details are available at www.insideselfstorageworldexpo.com.
