Arizona Self Storage Association Updates Lease Agreement

The Arizona Self Storage Association (AZSA) released the 2009 update to its lease form used by operators in the state for self-storage rentals. Some of the significant modifications include:
  • Changes to protect operators from lawsuits based variations in unit size
  • Added insulation from liability related to assisting tenants with goods
  • The addition of special powers for dealing with unit contents, such as alcoholic beverages, that cannot legally be sold at auction in the event of a default
  • Added protection from inflated claims of alleged emotional or sentimental loss after a lien sale
In addition, the AZSA will host its 11th annual conference and tradeshow at the Marriott Buttes Hotel in Tempe, Ariz., May 12-13, 2009. For more information, visit
