The Arizona Self Storage Association (AZSA) released the 2009 update to its lease form used by operators in the state for self-storage rentals. Some of the significant modifications include:
Changes to protect operators from lawsuits based variations in unit size
Added insulation from liability related to assisting tenants with goods
The addition of special powers for dealing with unit contents, such as alcoholic beverages, that cannot legally be sold at auction in the event of a default
Added protection from inflated claims of alleged emotional or sentimental loss after a lien sale
