Edmund C. Olson, chairman of Los Angeles-based A-American Self Storage, and Craig D. Olson, president, will donate $50,000 to the American Red Cross and $50,000 to the Salvation Army to support relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Edmund made the announcement during his induction to the Self Storage Association (SSA) Hall of Fame on Sept. 8 in Las Vegas. A-American has been an active participant in the SSA for more than 30 years.
"The immense catastrophe that has transpired in the Gulf States has affected so many that it will take the support of Americans throughout the country to help in this unprecedented recovery process," Edmund said. "It is my hope that this contribution will set an example that will be followed by many other business leaders.” He encouraged self-storage professionals who were present at the SSA’s fall conference and tradeshow at Caesars Palace to make a donation to the Red Cross, which had representatives on site.
