Seventy U.K. companies have launched a pilot program to explore whether a four-day work week is feasible. The six-month plan includes 3,000-plus employees, who’ll receive 100% of their pay but work one less day each week. The catch? They’re expected to maintain their productivity as if they still logged the extra day. Can this concept work in the self-storage industry? While more facility operators are automating parts of their business—with many going fully remote—there are others sticking to the tried-and-true formula of a staff-managed operation. Limiting onsite management to four days could be tricky for some.
