Industry Executive Launches ‘Best Self Storage Insurance’ Agency

Insurance industry executive Mario Macaluso has launched Best Self Storage Insurance LLC (BSSI), an independent agency offering integrated insurance solutions to the storage industry. Programs include business policies such as general liability, property and casualty, and workers’ compensation as well as umbrella and commercial-automotive coverage, according to a press release. The company also offers tenant insurance.

Macaluso co-founded the SBOA Tenant Insurance (SBOATI) program, the insurance arm of the Storage Business Owners Alliance LLC (SBOA) buying group, in 2011. BSSI is a provider of SBOATI. The move to launch an independent agency was amicable, the release stated.

“Mario has been instrumental to the success of the SBOATI program,” said Ian Burnstein, president of the SBOA. “The SBOA supports Mario as he grows Best Self Storage Insurance.”

Macaluso began his sales career with Colonial Penn Insurance Co. and has experience in the commercial industry, working with The Mahoney Group for 15 years. He is a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) and has served as president of the Independent Agents Association of Greater Phoenix.
