Both properties will offer climate-controlled and drive-up units in a variety of sizes, covered loading docks, and a conference room with copy and fax services. Security features include electronic access, individual unit alarms and video cameras. The buildings were constructed by Nordstrom Commercial Builders LLC, a Lone Tree, Colo.-based company that specializes in the construction of industrial, office, retail, self-storage and warehouses. The structures consist of masonry, stucco and metal exteriors over steel framing and reinforced concrete foundations. Desmone Architects of Pittsburgh designed the Longmont facility. The Boulder property was designed by Denver-based Sy-Bazz Architecture LLC.

Founded in 1987, Guardian Storage owns or manages five self-storage facilities in the Denver metro area and 12 in Greater Pittsburgh, with a total of 1.6 million square feet of storage space and more than 14,000 units. The company also has three projects under development in Pittsburgh.
