Shurgard Self Storage Receives Communication Award From Belgian Finance Professionals Organization

Shurgard Self Storage Ltd., the European affiliate of U.S.-based real estate investment trust Public Storage Inc., has received the 2023 “Best Financial Communication” award from the Belgian Centre of Expertise for Finance Professionals (BCEFP). The jury-determined, annual award is given to Belgian-listed companies that provide effective information and communication with financial markets, according to a press release.

As part of its award criteria, the center considers financial press releases and statements; other communication related to products and services, strategy and risks; and companies’ overall relationships with investors, the release stated.

“It is a privilege to accept the award for Best Financial Communication,” said Shurgard CEO Marc Oursin. “This recognition reflects the collective dedication and hard work of our entire team at Shurgard to ensure clear and transparent communication. It is highly rewarding to see these principles acknowledged by such an esteemed award. Shurgard also shared first place and received second-place honors in the subcategories of “Best Mid & Small Cap 2023” and “Best Investor Relations,” respectively.

Founded in 1958, the BCEFP is a nonprofit that offers information on financial analysis, reporting, valuation and communication to finance professionals in Belgium.

Shurgard operates 275 self-storage facilities comprising 1.4 million net rentable square meters in Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Based in Glendale, California, Public Storage has interests in 3,028 self-storage facilities in 40 states, with approximately 217 million net rentable square feet. It holds a 35 percent interest in Shurgard.
