Everyone is talking about artificial intelligence (AI) these days. It’s all over the news and seems to insert itself into lots of conversation. But does it really have a place in the self-storage industry? This is the question being asked by many facility operators as they already struggle to keep pace with advancements in technology.

It’s also the question we explore in this new “Sounds of Storage” podcast, in which Inside Self-Storage (ISS) Editor Amy Campbell speaks with Stephen Sandecki, president of Storage360. They discuss ways to leverage AI, why operators might want to, and advice for those who want to get started. Sandecki also discusses ways to avoid negative repercussions during adoption.

Sandecki has more than 17 years of self-storage experience, specializing in digital marketing, software development and other innovation. He’s held executive and senior-level positions at several industry operations including Life Storage Inc. and National Storage Affiliates Trust. He was most recently chief marketing officer for Store Space, where he was part of the development team that created Storage360, a cloud-based management software that’ll soon be available to all industry operators.
