Attic Self Storage, which operates five locations in London, has launched a children’s charity art initiative to celebrate the upcoming launch of its new facility in Beckton, an East London suburb. The program invites local students to submit drawings or paintings that depict the “Beauty of Beckton.” For each submission received, Attic will donate £5 to Richard House Children’s Hospice, also in the city. The school with the most entries will receive a donation of £500 in art and craft supplies, according to the source.

The student art must be submitted through the mail or uploaded to the Attic website. It’ll be displayed in the storage building at 3A Claps Gate Lane and showcased during an exhibition this summer. Afterward, it’ll be donated to Richard House.

In addition, Beckton artist Matt Ponting has been commissioned to create a bespoke art installation inspired by the children’s creations. It’ll also be on display during the summer exhibition.

“Beckton is a vibrant community, so we have no doubt that there will be some fantastic entries for the competition,” said Kathryn Elvin, head of corporate engagements and partnerships for Richard House. “We are very pleased to be supported by Attic Self Storage. Their valuable donations will play a vital role in helping local families with a life-limited child to access therapies, respite, community support and friendship to help them enjoy positive memories together and an improved quality of life.”

The new Beckton self-storage facility will comprise 868 units with electronic locks. Amenities include 24-hour access, free electronic-vehicle charging stations, workspace pods, free Wi-Fi and document storage. “The new premises will offer easy, work-based solutions for those who need a quiet space outside their home without the commitment of an office rental,” de Ryckman de Betz said.

Founded in 2006, Attic also operates facilities in Bow, Harrow, King’s Cross and Marylebone. Additional offerings include conference rooms, moving and packing supplies, and mailbox rentals.
