Tenant Inc., a provider of property-management software and other technology for self-storage and other types of real estate, has created a product integration with MiniCo Insurance Agency, a provider of specialty insurance products for the self-storage industry. The partnership will streamline the insurance claims and collection process for storage operators who use Tenant’s Hummingbird software, according to a press release.

MiniCo will be able to automatically pull insurance-related data to track plan or policy sales. Users will no longer need to manually export and send protection-policy reports, the release stated.

“Our goal has always been to provide our customers with the best service and integrate with facility-management software programs that have high demand and an available API [application programming interface],” said James Appleton, director of sales for MiniCo. “After requests from operators for Hummingbird integration—and a successful testing period—we’re now looking forward to a full integration release for all customers over the next few weeks.”

“This integration will help automate the process of collecting and updating insurance information, eliminating the need for manual data entry and reducing the risk of errors,” added Tenant CEO Lance Watkins. “This will save time and improve the accuracy of the insurance data maintained by our customers using Hummingbird.”

Earlier this year, Tenant acquired Storelocal, a private membership program of independent self-storage operators. The combined company has the backing of more than 200 self-storage investors and 1,500 membership subscribers, according to the Feb. 17 announcement.

Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Tenant offers customizable solutions for self-storage operators, including property-management software, website technology, digital-marketing services and more.

Founded in 1974, MiniCo offers specialty-property and casualty insurance products for a variety of industries and exposures. It’s a part of Jencap Group, a wholesale insurance intermediary with expertise in brokerage, binding authority and program management.
