Investment Real Estate LLC (IRE), a property-management and consulting firm serving the self-storage industry, has hired Jeff Murdorf as director of construction, responsible for leading all construction projects for the Investment Real Estate Group of Cos., including the Moove In Self Storage portfolio. Murdorf will manage expansion projects and capital improvements at existing stores, renovations and additions at newly acquired properties, new construction, and capital improvements at the home office and historic mill.

“Jeff is the perfect candidate for the position. He has a world of construction experience as demonstrated by his completed project résumé exceeding $275 million in all different types of commercial property,” said John Gilliland, CEO and president. “Jeff also has that entrepreneurial spirit, which will serve him well here.”

Murdorf has more than 12 years of experience in the construction industry. Most recently, he owned a commercial general-contractor construction firm in San Antonio. In previous roles, he was a project manager for a large construction firm in Austin, Texas, and served 18 years of active duty in the military. Murdorf earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Management and Technology, and will complete a Master of Science degree from the University of Texas at El Paso next year.
