Central States Manufacturing Inc. (CSM), which provides metal-building components and packages for self-storage and other industries, has acquired Storage Structures Inc., which designs, supplies and installs self-storage buildings. Richard Allen will continue to lead Storage Structures as president. The transaction closed on Dec. 30, according to a press release.

The acquisition will allow CSM to design and install “complex” multi-story self-storage buildings. The company also plans to expand the application of Storage Structure’s patented Alpha Framing System, which is designed to shorten construction time on multi-level buildings and eliminate concrete staining on partition panels.

Founded in 1988 and based in Tontitown, Arkansas, CMS manufactures metal-building components, including roofs, wall panels, trim, accessories and structural purlin. It has more than 1,200 employees, who own 100% of the company, and operates 11 manufacturing facilities.

Founded in 2007 and based in Villa Rica, Georgia, Storage Structures specializes in the design, procurement and installation of metal-building components for bi-level, boat/RV, single-story and multi-story self-storage structures.
