Tenant Inc., a provider of property-management software and other technology for self-storage and other types of real estate, has released Charm, a call-management system that integrates with its Hummingbird software for self-storage operations. Available on a per-property basis, the new tool aims to enhance user efficiency and PCI (payment card industry) compliance, according to a press release. It also improves the customer experience for tenants.
Charm displays caller information before a self-storage operator answers the phone, enabling them to greet the caller by name if they are a facility tenant. It also introduces PCI-compliant payments, allowing customers to securely enter credit card details using their touch-tone phone.
With Charm, self-storage operators can handle calls directly within Hummingbird using any web browser. The tool also generates leads from non-customer inquiries and captures missed calls and voicemails, creating a centralized hub for all interactions, the release stated.
Previously, Hummingbird users lacked access to tenant details like name, status, balance and space information when receiving incoming calls. Limited integration meant the property-management software couldn’t natively capture call recordings, voicemails or missed calls. Staff had to manually record leads. Also, asking customers to provide credit card information over the phone posed significant security risks for the self-storage operator.
“Charm brings telephone communication into the [property-management software] in a new way,” said Justin Paquin, senior director of product. “Prior to Charm, only a system outside [Hummingbird] could access phone records and conversations. Bringing this into the software closes the loop on having all tenant communication in one place.”
Headquartered in Newport Beach, California, Tenant offers customizable solutions for self-storage operators, including property-management software, website technology, digital-marketing services and more.
