Storage Authority LLC, which operates self-storage facilities in two states and has 31 franchises nationwide, has launched a free land-review program for potential developers, investors or owners. It aims to help those who have a piece of land or vacant building determine whether self-storage would be a good fit there. The free consultation is valued at $1,000, according to a press release.

A full industry feasibility report can cost as much as $8,000, and 75% of these studies conclude that the potential project will fail. The Storage Authority land review will help interested parties understand the viability of building self-storage on their parcel or converting an existing retail space, warehouse or other reusable structure into a cash-flowing asset, the release stated.

Sarasota, Florida-based Storage Authority was cofounded by Marc Goodin and Scott House in 2016. Its franchise model offers existing self-storage owners and those looking to enter the industry the chance to build a business under the brand’s operational framework. The company also offers consulting services and facility-manager training.
