DXD Capital, a self-storage developer and investor, appointed Martin Huff as its director of investor relations. In this role, he’ll be working with the company’s growing network of investors who seek fund and direct-investment opportunities within the industry, according to a press release.

Huff most recently served as a principal with The Cotton Cos. in his hometown of Columbus, Georgia, where he oversaw two adaptive-reuse, mixed-use developments. He also led real estate development and construction in the expansion of Fetch Park, an urban dog park and bar concept with five locations throughout Georgia.

Previous to that, Huff spent 13 years as the director of operations for Morning View Communities, a property-management company for manufactured homes. He also spent nine years at The Johnson Group, a family office, where he oversaw the development of more than 65 ground-up self-storage projects totaling more than $800 million. Both companies are based in Spartanburg, South Carolina.

Huff is active in community service and leadership, serving on the boards of several non-profit organizations in Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Wofford College.

Based in Denver, DXD is a real estate and private-equity firm that leverages data technology to make opportunistic investments. It focuses exclusively on the self-storage sector.
