Self-Storage Building Supplier MakoRabco Names New Regional Sales Managers

MakoRabco, a nationwide supplier of buildings and construction-related services for the self-storage and boat/RV-storage industries, appointed Cristian Batres and Donna Morgan-Esquibel as regional sales managers. Batres will cover Florida, while Morgan-Esquibel will serve the Coastal South including Alabama, the Carolinas and Georgia, according to a press release.

Batres began his self-storage career at U.S. Door & Building Components, where he held positions in drafting, sales and project coordination. He then moved to Storage Structures to be part of the sales team, and later Janus International to focus on estimating services and international sales. After a stint with insulation company Rockwool, Batres returned to the self-storage industry via MakoRabco. He also cofounded the Latin America Self Storage Association and served as its vice president, the release stated.

“Cristian embodies all the things that are truly important to a storage contractor or developer, with a robust background in project management and engineering and drafting in tandem with his whatever-it-takes mentality,” said Angie Guerin, vice president of MakoRabco. “We’re excited to welcome him to the MakoRabco family. We know he’ll be an asset to our business as he helps to manage the client facing portion of our Florida market.”

Morgan-Esquibel has 33 years of self-storage experience. She began her industry career with door manufacturer DBCI in 1991. After accumulating 15 years of experience in construction, she shifted her focus to operations. She later joined XPS Solutions. Most recently, Morgan-Esquibel worked for StorageAuctions.com to oversee various aspects, including outside sales. She’s also vice president of the Alabama Self Storage Association.

“Donna is known for her sharp wit and her genuine and heartfelt nature. She’s been an advocate for her clients, a leader to the industry, and a true pioneer for women in storage for [more than] 30 years,” Guerin said. “We’re thrilled to have her knowledge, skillset and prime customer support skills in service to our company’s mission in the Coastal South region and are honored to have her on our team.”

MakoRabco specializes in building design, supply and installation. The company has constructed more than 4,000 self-storage facilities nationwide. It operates from offices in Carlsbad, California, and Winter Garden, Florida.
