All Storage Turns Council Opposition to a Win for Self-Storage in Arlington, TX

The Arlington, Texas, City Council voted unanimously last week to approve an All Storage self-storage facility at 6251 Joplin Road, even though it opposed the project last month. The council tabled its decision on Jan. 24 to allow the storage company to revise its plans. The new design is dark burgundy instead of bright red and will include fencing along the back perimeter, a nature garden, and “Welcome to Arlington” signage on the front entrance, according to the source. It’ll comprise more than 1,000 climate-controlled units on an L-shaped lot.

Councilmember Charlie Parker was among those who resisted the project last month but changed his mind after reviewing the revised master plan. “As far as storage units go, this is a class act,” he said during the meeting.

No timetable for the project was reported.

All Storage owns 40 facilities in Oklahoma and Texas. Its portfolio of more than 5 million net rentable square feet ranks 18th on the 2016 Inside Self-Storage Top-Operators List.
