Self-storage operators do everything they can to ensure their customers’ belongings are protected from the elements. From inspecting and repairing their roofs to replacing them when necessary, the goal is always loss prevention. But even under the greatest diligence, leaks can develop, which can wreak havoc on whatever’s inside the units below and cause a host of problems.

In a recent thread on Self-Storage Talk, the industry’s largest online community, a member has shared a story about a faulty roof and her attempt to make amends with the tenant whose goods were damaged.
