Your rental agreement states what can and can’t be stored in your self-storage units, like gasoline, fireworks, illegal drugs, food, even plants. But other items can be problematic, too, particularly if they emit a strong odor that can be detected outside or from within other spaces. Maybe one of your tenants is storing items saved from a fire that reek of smoke. Or they’re a heavy smoker and everything smells like cigarettes.
