National Mini Storage, the largest self-storage operator in Auckland, New Zealand, is preparing its 13-property portfolio for the real estate market. The company aims to sell the business in a single transaction in 2025, according to the source.

National Mini has engaged real estate firm KPMG of New Zealand to oversee the process. Leading the effort will be Nick McKay, head of mergers and acquisitions. He has reportedly approached private-capital companies with self-storage experience about the opportunity, the source reported.

The self-storage operator opened its first site in Penrose, Auckland, in 1991. Since then, it has expanded to the suburbs, opening its newest site in October in New Lynn. It also has another under construction in Glen Inness. The company employs about 50 people. Its earnings have stabilized between $25 million and $30 million, according to the source.

National Mini offers climate-controlled, drive-up and vehicle-storage units. Additional offerings include ewaste and cardboard recycling, document destruction, and moving and packing supplies.
