Following a three-year battle with city officials and residents, retired self-storage owner Derrel Ridenour has finally received zoning approval to build a new animal-adoption center in Fresno, Calif. Ridenour, whose family operates California-based Derrel’s Mini Storage, donated 4 acres of land and $3 million to help the county build the new public facility.
