Firefighters discovered the body of Jonathan Liles, 58, inside a Fargo, N.D., self-storage unit on Sunday after it was consumed by flames. Crews responded to the fire at M&M Service Center, 1725 1st Ave. N., at 2:39 a.m. and spent approximately 10 minutes extinguishing the blaze. They found Liles’ body when going through the aftermath, according to the source.

The crew included 18 firefighters from four engines, one truck and two command vehicles. A joint investigation into the cause of the fire and Liles’ death has been launched by the Fargo Fire and Police Departments. Additional information hasn’t been released.

The damage to the storage facility is estimated to be $15,000, according to Fargo Fire Battalion Chief Jason Ness. “Luckily for us, it’s a very rare occurrence for all of our community; however, things tend to happen,” he said.
