The William Warren Group (WWG), a privately held real estate company that operates the StorQuest Self Storage brand, recently unveiled a three-story mural of NBA superstar Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, on the eastern wall of its downtown Los Angeles location at 3707 S. Hill St. StorQuest partnered with local street artist Ruben Rojas and community art project Beautify Earth to create the display, according to a press release. Bryant, 41, and his daughter, 13, were killed on Jan. 26., along with seven others, when their helicopter crashed in Calabasas, Calif.

“At StorQuest, we motivate our guests to live their best life by making room for all the things they love doing,” said Michelle Bakva, vice president of marketing and sales. “Kobe was a true embodiment of what it means to put aside your excuses and champion a truly awesome existence.”

The mural features silhouettes of both figures in Lakers team colors, along with their basketball jersey numbers. The word “love”—a frequent theme used in Rojas’ work—is written repeatedly inside the silhouettes. It’s meant to represent “the outpour of adoration the world has for Bryant and his family,” the release stated.

“Let’s remember Kobe Bryant’s legacy, not just on the court, but beyond it—his impact on the world, the example of fatherhood and giving more than anyone will ever know,” Rojas said. “Here’s to embracing our self-doubts, chasing our own greatness, becoming the best versions of ourselves and living life to the fullest.”

Bryant led the Lakers to seven NBA finals, winning five championships in his 20 seasons.

Rojas co-founded Beautify Earth, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering artists, encouraging social responsibility and instilling community pride by transforming blighted walls into artwork, the release stated.

Founded in 1994 and based in Santa Monica, Calif., WWG acquires, develops and operates more than 165 self-storage facilities in 14 states.
