Police Investigate Arson at Kapiolani, HI, Self-Storage Facility

A fire at Storkeeper Self Storage in Kapiolani, Hawaii, last week is being investigated as arson. Police believe someone broke into the facility at 1687 Kalauokalani Way on Aug. 4 and intentionally started the blaze.
Firefighters responded to a 911 call just before midnight. When they arrived, they found smoke coming from the building. The fire was extinguished within 30 minutes. No one was injured.
The fire caused an estimated $75,000 in damage to the structure and the unit contents. No arrests have been made, the source reported.
Opened in 2010, Storkeeper is privately owned and operated by the Ulu Family. It was launched by Christopher Ulu, who has been in the self-storage industry for more than 25 years, and his son, Christopher Ulu Jr.
