'Outstanding Green Facility' Award Introduced for Self-Storage Operators

Mini-Storage Messenger, a monthly trade periodical for the self-storage industry and flagship publication of MiniCo Publishing, has announced the launch of its first annual “Outstanding Green Facility” Award. The winner will be selected based on the following criteria:

  • Energy-efficient features

  • Water-efficient features

  • Use of innovative, unique, environmentally friendly building materials

  • Challenges overcome during building

  • LEED certification

  • Overall design and landscaping

  • Indoor air quality

  • Overall environmental impact of facility

  • Green marketing techniques

The competition is open to all self-storage facilities, and entries may be submitted by owners, operators, builders, managers or others. The winning facility will receive a trophy and a feature article in the April 2010 issue of MSM. The deadline for submission is Jan. 25, 2010, and complete entry instructions may be downloaded at Ministoragemessenger.com.
