StoreEase Virtual Management, which operates self-storage facilities and offers the industry an online third-party management platform, has made two new hires to its leadership team. Scott Calato joins as regional director of operations, while and Melissa “Missy” Furhman will be vice president of transitions, according to a press release.

Calato has been in the self-storage industry for more than six years. He’s developed new strategies for acquisitions, onsite management and operations for companies such as National Storage Affiliates Trust and Simply Self Storage. He’s a team-builder who excels at establishing and executing key performance indicators, the release stated.

“I look forward to continuing my storage career and advancing the new operational standard StoreEase has set for the industry by transforming markets and wowing customers,” Calato said.

Fuhrman has served the self-storage industry for more than 12 years in roles related to development, facility management, leadership and transitions. She began her career with Capital Self Storage and was also head of transitions for Prime Storage Group. Most recently, Fuhrman was the transitions manager for Storage Asset Management, a third-party management firm. Fuhrman and her teams have transitioned more than 300 storage facilities nationwide.

“I love this industry and all the professional relationships I’ve made, including my peers, self-storage owners and vendors,” she said. “I am thrilled to bring my passion for self-storage to StoreEase.”

“The hiring of Melissa and Scott further demonstrates our commitment to elite operations by building a team of industry veterans who possess the highest character and integrity,” said StorEase CEO and President Josh Boyd. “We continue to build out our team by hiring the best as we accelerate the adoption of this revolutionary model and transform the way self-storage facilities operate every day.”
