Store Space Self Storage, which operates more than 80 properties in 20 states, hired Herby Bowman as senior director of business development. His primary area of focus will be to grow the brand's third-party partnerships and contribute to the company's acquisition portfolio, according to a press release.
Prior to joining Store Space, Bowman spent more than two years as director of business development for self-storage real estate investment trust Public Storage Inc. He believes the Store Space business approach aligns with the strategies he has formulated and implemented throughout his career.
“It was Store Space's entrepreneurial approach, operational results and flexibility related to deal-making that got me interested,” he said. “My experience so far in self-storage has been very rigid, and that is not the way Store Space approaches the business. Store Space has great operational results, but their approach is much more flexible and entrepreneurial.”
Michael Baillargeon, senior vice president of operations for Store Space, cited Bowman's industry knowledge and multi-faceted experience as invaluable to the company’s continued progression within in the self-storage industry. “Our team brings together a wealth of experience from multiple industries and sectors,” he said. “Attracting someone with Herby's experience and qualifications further amplifies our approach [to] disrupting the status quo in the storage industry.”
Founded in 2018 and based in Winter Garden, Florida, Store Space operates an owned and managed portfolio comprising more than 25 million net rentable square feet of self-storage.
