SROA Capital Appoints Chief Operating Officer

SROA Capital LLC, a self-storage real estate investment and management firm that operates the Storage Rentals of America brand, has appointed Kenneth Speegle as chief operating officer (COO). He’ll be responsible for the continued integration of the company’s technology platform, which is designed to streamline the customer experience and generate operational improvements that’ll result in net operating income growth, according to a press release.

Speegle has nearly 25 years of executive-leadership experience in the self-storage industry. Prior to joining SROA, he spent 18 years in various roles at Extra Space Storage Inc., most recently as senior vice president of operations, managing five divisions and more than 825 locations across the Southeast. He also served as senior district manager of Storage USA, overseeing more than 25 properties in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Pittsburgh.

“One of my primary goals as COO is to make SROA one of the best places to work in the U.S. by building a culture where employees find personal satisfaction through providing our customers with an enjoyable, quality customer-service experience,” Speegle said.

“Investing in high-quality talent ahead of our growth has really been one of the main pillars of our success that has allowed us to continually provide consistent rising yield to our investors since I started the self-storage business in 2006,” said SROA CEO and co-founder Benjamin Macfarland. “Kenny is a perfect complement to our team of trend-setting leaders in the self-storage industry.”

Based in West Palm Beach, Florida, SROA focuses on the acquisition and operation of self-storage properties nationwide. It owns and operates approximately 15 million rentable square feet across 25 states.
