SafeLease, which provides a tenant-protection plan for self-storage operations, has appointed Nate Kinet as chief revenue officer (CRO). He’ll focus on revenue generation and new-client acquisition as well as strategic partnerships, sales operations and marketing, according to a press release.

Kinet has a track record of achieving maximum profitability for SaaS (software as a service) and insurance-technology companies. Since joining SafeLease, he’s overseen new partnerships across more than 300 self-storage facilities, resulting in 80,000 units under contract, the release stated.

Prior to joining SafeLease, Kinet was CRO for insurance-technology firm Sure, where he built the sales, partnerships, marketing and recruiting functions. During his tenure, the company more than doubled revenue year-over-year. Prior to Sure, he was the second U.S.-based employee at Trustpilot, which operates a consumer-review website. He helped scale that company in preparation for its initial public offering last year.

SafeLease Tenant Protection works with most self-storage management software programs to automatically enroll eligible renters in a minimum-coverage protection plan at move-in. Customers with proof of insurance may opt out. Facility operators collect the revenue directly from tenants.
