Self-Storage Supplier Janus International Names Vice President of Human Resources, General Counsel

Janus International Group, a global manufacturer and supplier of building solutions and technology for the self-storage industry, has named Rebecca Castillo as vice president of human resources (HR) and Elliot Kahler as general counsel. Both were already with the company and elevated from lower positions, according to a press release.

Castillo jointed Janus in 2016 as director of HR and has more than 25 years of experience in the field, specifically in recruitment and employee relations. In her new role, she’ll provide “strategic leadership and direction to align business objectives across personnel strategies, policies and processes,” the release stated. Reporting to CEO Ramey Jackson, she’ll partner with senior leadership to address critical HR-related opportunities across multiple disciplines.

Prior to joining Janus, Castillo served as a regional HR manager for a major landscaping firm with more than 12,000 employees. She holds bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mercer University.

Elliot joined Janus as corporate counsel in 2018 and is credited with playing an integral role in establishing the company’s in-house legal department. “His deep acumen on corporate and transactional law helped Janus achieve significant growth through his trusted counsel on matters related to corporate and commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, real estate expansion, and the implementation of various risk-management processes,” company officials said. He was also part of the team that helped Janus go public in 2021. He’ll continue to report to Jackson.

Prior to joining Janus, Elliot was an Atlanta-based attorney specializing in corporate and transactional law. He’s an active member of the State Bar of Georgia. He received his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law and also holds a bachelor’s degree in history from the school.

“We are very pleased to look at our talented internal team and promote both Rebecca and Elliot as a result of their many contributions to Janus’s success,” Jackson said. “Both of their promotions are proof that our growth is predicated upon our people, strategies and culture, of which both Elliot and Rebecca have contributed immeasurable time and attention toward developing. I look forward to seeing their future achievements and development of the teams around them as we continue our steadied focus on the domestic and global growth of Janus.”

Headquartered in Temple, Georgia, and founded in 2002, Janus is a global manufacturer and supplier of turnkey commercial, industrial and self-storage building solutions including roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, relocatable storage units, and facility- and door-automation technologies. The company operates out of several U.S. locations and six international offices.
