Kraig Haviland will rejoin Haviland Storage Services (HSS), a consultancy business he co-founded 20 years ago with his wife, Susan Haviland. The couple have a combined 60 years of self-storage experience, according to a press release.
Kraig joined San Diego Self Storage (SDSS) in 2007 as director of operations. He later became director of property management for the 18-facility portfolio. Kraig is also credited with helping lead the company through the Great Recession, business expansion, the pandemic and, most recently, the storage boom, the release stated. SDSS has been voted San Diego’s “Best Storage Company” by the readers of the “San Diego Union-Tribune” for eight consecutive years.
“I am grateful for many great years at San Diego Self Storage,” Kraig said. “The tremendous team we built there will surely continue to thrive. Sue has grown Haviland Storage Services into a dynamo business, and it will be great to work in tandem once again!”
“Our growth has brought us to the point where we need an extra pair of hands. Kraig and I make a great team, and I am very happy to have him back with the family business,” Sue said.
Founded in 2002, HSS provides third-party management and operational support for self-storage businesses, including audits, manager training and competitor studies. The firm has offices in the Carolinas, Idaho and San Diego.
