Janus International, a global manufacturer and supplier of building solutions and technology for the self-storage industry, hired Cynthia (Cindy) Ashby as a sales representative for its R3 (Restore, Rebuild, Replace) Division, covering the mid-Atlantic region. She’ll work with customers to identify their renovation-related product needs such as door replacement, unit remixes, relocatable storage units and other offerings, according to a press release.
Ashby has worked in the self-storage industry since 1993 and is president of the North Carolina Self Storage Association. She has experience in acquisitions, consulting, operations, training and more. She served as vice president of operations for self-storage operator Prime Storage Group before founding the consulting firm Dynamic Self Storage Solutions in 2017.
Last spring, Ashby and three industry veterans launched a subscription-based consulting service called “Ask the Storage Experts.” Topics of expertise include accounting, budgeting, data and business analysis, day-to-day facility operation, marketing, revenue management, training, and more. The team also includes Kevin Leebrick, a Dynamic partner; Magen Smith, founder of Magen Smith CPA LLC; and Matthew Van Horn, co-founder of 3 Mile Domination Self Storage Services.
“Cindy Ashby has consistently been a force to be reckoned with in the self-storage industry for the past 25 years, and her work ethic is unrivaled,” said Roc Hughes, vice president of business development for the R3 Division. “Having her expertise on our team will bring an invaluable perspective to everything we do. We’re so excited to have her join the R3 Division as we continue to bring new life to self-storage facilities.”
Headquartered in Temple, Ga., and founded in 2002, Janus sells roll-up and swing doors, hallway systems, and re-locatable storage units. It also has a technology division designed to help self-storage operators automate facility operation, improve security, and create a more convenient customer experience. It operates 10 U.S. locations as well as manufacturing facilities in Europe and Mexico.
