When a customer rents a unit at your self-storage facility, you expect that they’ll move in pretty quickly. Sometimes there’s a bit of a delay. But what do you do when several weeks or even  months go by and they never bring any stuff? The space sits empty, maybe even without a lock to secure it. Should you be concerned or simply sit back and collect the rent? Are there any security risks or legal obligations to consider? In this thread on Self-Storage Talk, the industry’s largest and most active online community, members are discussing this rather odd situation and what, if anything, they do about it.
