MiniCo Insurance Agency LLC, a provider of insurance products for the self-storage industry, has is now offering a workers’ compensation program. Underwritten by Liberty Mutual Insurance, it provides coverage to self-storage facilities for lost wages and medical treatment resulting from an employee's work-related injury or illness. It also covers services required to help an employee recover and return to work, according to a press release.

Additional benefits include helping injured workers with out-of-pocket expenses for medication and giving them access to affordable treatment through Liberty’s network of local medical providers, the release stated.

“Workers’ compensation insurance is a coverage often requested by independent insurance agents writing business with MiniCo's self-storage specialty insurance program,” said Mike Schofield, president and CEO of MiniCo. “We believe this is a valuable enhancement to our self-storage product portfolio. MiniCo is pleased to offer this important protection on a monoline basis without supporting business in all 50 states."
