Manhattan Mini Storage (MMS), which operates 21 self-storage facilities in Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens, New York, has launched a new ad campaign with the theme “A Storage Unit Has Never…,” highlighting the unique quirks of living in New York City. The comical scenarios depicted through billboards and online videos bring light to the annoying situations residents regular encounter, including cooking mishaps, dating disasters, dorm-room dramas and more, according to a press release.

“Life in New York throws you everything except extra space in your apartment or office. That's where we come in,” said Sarah Little, senior vice president of marketing. “In a city where roommates bail, dating apps are [suspect] and the unexpected is a way of life, we aim to be the one thing that doesn't leave you asking, 'What just happened?'”

As the campaign unfolds throughout 2025, MMS is also inviting New Yorkers to share their own “Only in NYC” stories on social media by tagging @ManhattanMiniStorage on Instagram and TikTok and including the hashtag #SpaceForAll.  

MMS was founded in 1978 as a family-owned business. It was acquired in 2021 by StorageMart, which operates more than 250 self-storage properties across Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.
