Family-Owned Self-Storage Operator Personal Mini Storage Names Director of Business Development

Florida-based self-storage operator Personal Mini Storage, a family-owned business launched in 1982, has named Jake Smith as its new director of business development. Representing the third generation of Smiths to work for the company, he’ll be responsible for new acquisitions and third-party management growth, according to a press release.

Smith has a background in business administration, with a focus on business development and strategic planning. He previously worked in the senior-housing and single-family build-for-rent industries, where he underwrote more than $150 million in transactions.

Personal Mini is currently run by Jake’s parents, Marc Smith and Laurie Shader Smith, who serve as president and vice president, respectively. The company was founded by Jake’s grandfather, Stan Shader, and his great uncle, Ron Shader, the release stated.

We’re confident that Jake's experience will help steer Personal Mini Storage toward an even brighter future and strengthen our position as an industry leader.”

Personal Mini operates 48 self-storage facilities throughout Florida. It also offers third-party management services through the Shader Brothers Corp.
