10 Federal Storage LLC, which operates more than 70 self-storage facilities in the Southeast, has launched an all-new Curbside Rental & Service Center at its owned and managed properties that aims to provide customers with an easy way to rent units and manage their accounts without human interaction, according to the company’s LinkedIn page. The new offering allows users to conduct transactions from the comfort of their car.

Once a 10 Federal customer pulls up to a designated parking space, all they need to do is scan a QR code, which will take them to the Tenant Connect web portal. Once there, they can rent a unit, pay their bill and manage their account in other ways. They can also open the facility gate and get a code to unlock their unit door via the company’s DaVinci Lock. They can even report issues and process their move-out when the time comes.

Tenant Connect also offers a chatbot powered by artificial intelligence that can handle most customer inquiries without human intervention. Users can be connected with a live agent for additional assistance when needed.

10 Federal plans to add additional features to the curbside offering. For example, last month, it introduced a feature that allows lien-sale auction winners to upload a photo of their space once it’s been emptied so they can collect their deposit.

“We are incredibly proud of our team for constantly pushing the boundaries to improve the customer experience, increase efficiencies and reduce costs,” company representatives wrote in a statement. Founded in 2010 and based in Raleigh, North Carolina, 10 Federal is a diversified real estate company that also operates multi-family properties. Its self-storage portfolio of owned and managed properties comprises more than 3 million net rentable square feet. The company recently reached a notable performance milestone and launched a new investment offering.
