OpenTech Alliance Inc., a Phoenix-based provider of kiosks, call-center services and other technology for the self-storage industry, has implemented a companywide initiative to comply with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR), a set of European standards that govern how businesses gather, store and use personal data from customers, staff, suppliers and the public. The move coincides with the opening of OpenTech’s London office, announced last week.

As part of the initiative, OpenTech has updated its access-control system, Insomniac CIA (Centralized Intelligence Access), to ensure it meets the GDPR guidelines for:

Established in 2018, the GDPR standards are more stringent than U.S. consumer compliance guidelines, OpenTech officials said in a press release.
