Self-Storage Operator Barbas Storeandpark Wins 2019 German Business Award

Barbas Storeandpark GmbH received a 2019 German Business Award from “EU Business News” magazine, recognizing it as the country’s top self-storage provider. The company operates two facilities near Frankfurt, with two more locations expected to open this year. The awards program recognizes small and mid-size businesses for their “innovation and excellence” and overall performance, according to the magazine’s website.

“After successfully finding key investors and funding for our expansion, our goal is to now roll out our business model and implement our expansion plans,” Storeandpark founder Peter Barbas told the magazine. “We are in discussion with two key market players to see if there are cooperation opportunities, and [we’re] in constant contact with property owners looking to maximize their investments. Ultimately, our short-term plans are the opening of our two new properties. Thereafter, we are aiming for another three to five properties next year.”

Barbas Storeandpark offers storage space ranging from 1 to 14 square meters. It’s one of the few self-storage operators in the region that allows tenants to manage their accounts and pay bills online, Barbas said. Customers can also book units online.

Barbas founded the company in 2017 and opened his second location in May. “We have a passion for real estate, and after some research, we have found that buying and renting storage space is similar to buying and renting apartments,” according to official statements on the company website. “We believe in our business and know from our own experience that the provision of storage solutions solves a growing problem.”

Launched in 2016, “EU Business News” provides business coverage of the European Union. It’s published by AI Global Media, a U.K.-based publisher founded in 2010.
