SmartStop Self Storage Sponsors Boxers Badou Jack and Viddal Riley in Undercard Matches

SmartStop Self Storage REIT Inc., which operates 144 properties in 19 U.S. states and Toronto, is sponsoring boxers Badou Jack and Viddal Riley in their eight-round undercard matches during the Nov. 28 Mike Tyson-Roy Jones Jr. exhibition match at Dignity Health Park in Carson, Calif. The California State Athletic Commission has sanctioned the addition of both matches to the fight card, according to a SmartStop press release.

A former Olympian and world champion in two weight classes, Jack, known as “The Ripper,” will face Blake “The Beast” McKernan, a U.S. Army veteran. Riley, who holds two knock-out wins and a silver medal from a 2013 victory in the European Amateur Boxing Championships, will compete against American mixed-martial arts (MMA) fighter Rashad “Daywalker” Coulter.

“We are thrilled to be part of this historic night in boxing history,” said H. Michael Schwartz, executive chairman of SmartStop. “We recognize the importance of dedication and hard work to success in any endeavor—be it real estate or boxing—and are pleased to support both of these talented fighters in reaching their goals.”

SmartStop previously sponsored MMA fighters Shawn “The Great” Bunch and Joe “The Hybrid” Duarte.

The four-hour live event, sponsored by digital platform app Triller, will mark Tyson's return to boxing. The event will air globally, with the main three-hour card available via pay-per-view and streaming.

SmartStop is a self-managed real estate investment trust. Through its indirect subsidiary SmartStop REIT Advisors LLC, it sponsors other self-storage programs, including Strategic Storage Trust IV Inc., a public non-traded REIT.
