BlueMountain Self Storage of Johnstown, CO, Hosts Raptor Education Program

BlueMountain Self Storage & Wine Lockers in Johnstown, Colo., hosted an education event last week, presented by Nature’s Educators and focused on local birds of prey. About 20 people attended the Nov. 2 exhibition at 4888 Ronald Reagan Blvd., which highlighted raptors’ features and habits. Tickets were sold in advance on Eventbrite, and all proceeds were given to the bird sanctuary.

Volunteers showed the audience four specimens: an eastern screech owl, a goshawk, a peregrine falcon and a golden eagle. The nonprofit operates a rehabilitation center and cares for 45 raptors and 80 other animals that can’t be returned to the wild due to injuries. The Sedalia, Colo.-based organization was established in 2008 to bring animals into nature centers, classrooms, events and other places to teach people about wildlife and facilitate a healthy respect and understanding for all animals, according to its website.

Family-owned and -operated, BlueMountain operates a second facility in Parker, Colo. Both properties offer free use of a moving truck upon move-in, mobile-app access, electronic locks, climate-controlled units, free WiFi and other amenities. They also provide solutions for businesses such as package acceptance, inventory and records storage, shelving units and more.
